Bobbi Kristina Brown remains hospitalized following a Jan. 31 medical emergency – that, everyone agrees on.
But some of her relatives have issued differing statements regarding her condition and prognosis.

Her dad Bobby Brown announced during a concert Saturday night that she was “awake.” A subsequent statement issued through his lawyer said “there has been improvement” in her condition but notes she has a long journey to recovery “and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”
Bobby Brown’s wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, said in a statement that her husband’s announcement during the concert was “an attempt to correct the negative comments he must endure on a daily basis from both family and the public regarding his daughter’s medical condition.”
“He is encouraged by the steps that Bobbi Kristina has made since her hospitalization on January 31, 2015,” Etheredge-Brown said. “She has made it out of ICU, opened her eyes, and started a rehabilitation that will be long and hard.”
But last month her grandmother Cissy Houston told a New York radio station that while she was still praying, there’s “not a great deal of hope.”
“She’s the same,” Houston said during an interview with WBLS. “We’ve moved her now to a place for rehabilitation. There’s still not a great deal of hope. We’re praying.”
Houston reiterated her position in recent comments to TMZ:
“I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive.”
Bobby Brown hasn’t said much publicly about his daughter but had signaled optimism before. In February, he issued a statement through his lawyer to dispute reports that family members were preparing to say goodbye and in a brief exchange with Access Hollywood said, “She’s good. We’re praying.”
